Where The Water Is Cold
While writing the book, Ryhal realized how he and his father were very much
alike.

For instance they, along with their dogs, shared the same name and many similar
interests such as hunting and boating.

"When I was writing the book, it was so emotional," said Ryhal. "It was like I
would be fishing with my father again."

There is nothing more human, and more classically American, than a book
about a boy and his dog.

And no one could capture that human, American image more vividly than
69-year old Springfield local, James Ryhal, whose "Where the Water is Cold"
was published in early December.
